Filter

This page contains improvements to the AWR Design Environment for filter designers.

License requirements: Advanced iFilter (FIL_350)

Synthesize your complete filter, inclusive of stop-band nulls.

Control the asymmetry of your filter pass-band edge response.

Easily incorporate your filter into your circuit with a more complete element order specification.

iFilter Transmission Zeros

The project will open to an iFilter designed filter Circuit Schematic.

  1. Open the Final instance of the iFilter Filter Synthesis Wizard.
  2. It should open to the filter design and open the Advanced Synthesis tab where the user can control Transmission Zero placement.
  3. Add a new transmission zero at 550 by pushing the + button on the right side next to the Finite list in the Transmission Zero Placement section.
  4. Note the change in the filter response.
  5. If desired the message about the filter not being extracted is cleared with the Next button in the Automatic Extraction Solutions section of the Advanced Synthesis dialog.
    • Point out to the user that we support both automatic and manual extraction of zeros to allow for full control of the filter topology
