EM

This page contains improvements to functionality for EM analysis in the AWR Design Environment.

License requirements: AXIEM (XEM-001) and/or Analyst (ANA-001)

Get the ports you want in the places you want to use them with Analyst internal wave ports

Internal Wave Ports

The project will open and display a 3D horn antenna that is excited by a wave port not touching a boundary.

  • Notice the wave port not touching the boundary.
  • Enable the ANTENNA_3D annotation to view the 3D radiation pattern of the antenna.

Quickly and easily understand box or structure resonances with Analyst Eigenmode Analysis

Eigenmode Analysis

An EM structure exported from the AWR Design Environment is opened in Analyst-MP. An Eigenmode analysis has already been performed on the structure. The E-fields are annotated and there is a plot showing the frequencies of the two resonances found during the Eigenmode analysis.

Note: It is likely Analyst-MP opened behind the web page. Please check your task bar.

  • An EM structure exported from the AWR Design Environment is opened in Analyst-MP using only the ANA_001 feature.
  • An Eigenmode analysis can be performed.
  • The E-fields are annotated and there is a plot showing the frequencies of the two resonances found during the Eigenmode analysis.
  • To view the E-field of the second mode, in the annotation, change the Mode Number to 2

There is also an excellent example on the knowledge base showing how to export a structure from the AWRDE and run an eigenmode analysis exists here: Analyst-MP Eigenmode.

Analyze large 3D EM structures faster than ever

  • Large 3D EM structure benefit from significant performance improvements to the Analyst 3D solver.
  • The graph on the right illustrates the simulation time speed increase from V13 to V14 when solving very large 3D EM Structures.
  • The blue trace is the v13 simulation time.
  • The red trace is the v14 simulation time.
  • This feature does not have an online-demo.
